Our Mission at SGK Tutoring

At SGK Tutoring, our mission is to help young people feel confident, capable and calm about learning. I work with upper primary pupils, S1–S3 learners and National 5 students in Kirkcaldy, offering teacher led, small group and 1:1 tuition.

Lessons are carefully planned to build real understanding, not just memorising steps for a test. Groups are matched by school stage and learning needs so that every learner gets the right level of support and challenge.

In each session, we focus on filling gaps, strengthening core skills and practising the strategies that make classwork and homework feel more manageable. Over time, learners grow in confidence, start to see progress and feel more in control of their maths.

I also keep in regular contact with parents and carers, so you always know what we’re working on and how your child is getting on. SGK Tutoring is designed to be a friendly, supportive space where learners are encouraged, listened to and given the tools they need to succeed.

Professional Background

My name is Scott Keillor and I lead SGK Tutoring as an experienced and GTCS registered teacher. I bring years of professional experience from both mainstream classrooms and specialized support settings to every session.

Throughout my career, I have supported students at all levels, specifically those navigating maths anxiety or rebuilding their self-belief. I prioritize a nurturing and supportive environment where we focus on deep conceptual understanding and celebrate every small win along the way.

I am incredibly proud that SGK Tutoring won the Young Business Award at the Fife Business Awards for our service to the local community.

Additionally, I am proud to serve as a tutor representative for Tutors Alliance Scotland, helping to uphold high standards within our professional community aross Scotland.
